“Juh” is a weird word that has its roots in Leiden. It can be compared to “joh” in other parts of the Netherlands, “innit” in British slang, and “ne“ in Japanese. It’s added to the end of a sentence, usually when the sentence is a question, but the meaning isn’t completely clear. Leiden is celebrating their local traditions today. The 3rd of October has been a holiday in Leiden since the 16th century. The city of Leiden was under siege from the Spaniards. Food was very scarce but right before the entire city starved, de Geuzen broke several dykes. This caused the Spaniards to drown. So today, the people of Leiden celebrate that fact with lots of beer, herring and hutspot.
